Nitrous Oxide Sedation
IV Conscious Sedation
For dentistry performed under intravenous or IV conscious sedation, Fallingbrook Dental Centre will administer a powerful sedative via an IV, meaning you’ll feel completely calm and relaxed during the procedure—and often times will not be able to remember anything about the procedure after it’s done. You’ll be in a “twilight” state where you’re able to respond to requests and answer questions—for example, you’ll be able to move your head to the left if the dentist needs you to, or will be able to verbally confirm that you’re not feeling any pain—but will be completely relaxed. Should you elect to receive IV conscious sedation, you’ll want to make plans to have a friend or family member drive you home, and you’ll want to hold off on activities until the next day when the anesthesia is completely out of your system.
